Man that must be some project Kev - working on it since 1945-48?

Love #2 - interesting comp and lovely B&W tones

Ah, we need a new forum area "landscape, architecture and tank"
Where were these taken then?
They look like restored old images as opposed to new photos pp'ed...especially the first...

What's the project? Invade the "people's rebublic of Evesham" ;)

Cheers guys :)
The project P48 was born out of my interest in WWII and wanting to combine photography and Digital techniques to create images that.......could not have happened yet were thought provoking enough to get the head thinking about actually what if it had have happened.

In the early stages of the war when invasion was inevitable before the Battle for Britain it was considered that the safest part of the Country was the Worcestershire being the further point in any direction from the coast, 70 miles roughly in any direction, so in order to maintain some government and leadership plans were put in to place to accommodate both the Royal family and Government and the War Cabinet in Worcestershire, The Royal Family, Princesses Margaret and Elizabeth in the main, to be housed in Madresfield Court near Malvern and Churchill and the Cabinet at Hindlip Hall, now the Police Headquarters for West Mercia, Churchill himself was to reside at Spetchley Court just outside Worcester, all sites heavily defended by Special Home Guard units (Special Secret Auxillary units) These images depict English Streets in occupied hands........the project is ongoing and controversial so subject to secrecy at the highest level, Remember 'loose lips sink ships' and if you hear the Air Raid siren you must take cover immediately, Dig for Britain!!

The Panzer III on the Bridge is at Pershore heading towards the Town Defences
The Tiger was shot in the Breacons last year just around March

Cheers Guys, always a little daunting when presenting something that is controversial and different. but they always seem to receive some interest.

Chris the Panzer II and Tiger I are both 1/32nd and the Panzer III is 1/16th and full working RC. That will soon be playing with some smoke and fire effects.

This is Normandy after D-Day with some artistic licence off course.

Will upload a few more later

Damn that's a lot of hard work there Kev - impressive stuff

How are you dealing with the DOF issue to make it look 'real' - using any particular lenses etc?

Thanks Pete, not on the figures but have on the Panzers, tracks and wheels etc..........

This was an early one, but needs a revisit.....

My good friend Jonathan Baxter has been doing something similar - albeit in a Sci-Fi environment - for old Gerry Anderson stuff

So I know it takes a whole new skill set to set-up and shoot

Chris, cheers yes they don't happen over night but for me a great deal of satisfaction, research etc to get some level of authenticity, as long as there is some I'm ok, some enthusiasts may pick holes in the like of the cafe shot as not being exact but effect is what I am looking for.

As for shooting all table top so I can get right down, sometimes use a 10.5 f2.8 fisheye close in usually at the widest aperture, sometimes a 50 f 1.8 again full open and sometimes a 300 macro from around 1m away that tends to pull the DOF in a bit, it is quite often a case of take and retake.
The hardest part is planning, I need a background so will go off with a set of shots in mind then it's back to the models and model sets to set up the perspective, I think getting that right is 75% of the shot.
