Kayakers

In the bay between the hamlets of Toscaig (the houses you see on the peninsula there) and Camusterrach in Applecross in the Western Highlands of Scotland.

The kayakers happen to be Caiti and Meg, my daughters. The rounded dots in the water are the heads of some local seals, who were curious and surrounded and followed the kayaks.

The island of Raasay is straight ahead on the horizon, with the Isle of Skye to the left and further away.

Canon 7D.

Ah, those clouds look familiar. Beautiful shot, Brian. I have a good friend in Dundee, Bill Samson, who hand makes kayaks based on historical models. Never been in one myself - cannae swim. Bill is a retired astronomer who is getting into astro photography, and I've been trying to get him involved here, but without success so far.

Another fabulous shot across the straits there Brian. Wonderful sheen on the water. Glad to hear you stayed safely on the shore! :)
Much obliged, Pete! (To be honest, once the girls had gotten themselves out there I was wishing I had gone too. But since there were only two kayaks it was a simple equation.) Thanks again. Pete.

Thanks a lot, Rob!
