Lovely coo shot, kev. I love how they just stand there and stare at you. (They'd be very intimidating street photographers if they could handle a camera.)
Now that is good Kev. I like the effect of the heat haze. It's almost like frosted glass (well I suppose in physics it might well be exactly like frosted glass but a lot quicker!!). I reckon them cows have been playing with matches again!!
I can see what you mean and that would close the image off nicely. I'd probably also be tempted to straighten the image around the uprights of the bard even though they probably aren't really upright anyway. They might make nice additional frames within the image. What do you think?
What a great piece of framing. Just enough detail in the brick and just enough obscurity in the figure. And I see you managed to capture evidence of the Dodkin surveillance gull snooping around Worcester as well - good work. I knew he was stealing his ideas from somewhere!!
Now that really works well Kev. I like the selective focus very much and the way you have used the others parts of the flower as a background / foil to the bud. How did you light it? Is it on a white surface?
Thanks Pete, this is purely as shot, with the addition of the frame, using the X10 in Macro mode JPeg ISO Auto400 DR400 f91/@ 2,1:1 aspect, Tripod mounted in natural lighting background is simply my kitchen door. I think this is one type of shot that this little camera excels at..
I wanted the bud to be the main subject, and sampled at f2 but that was too severe DOF..
Thanks Paul, one thing I tried a year of so ago was using white card and black card as a simple backdrop slipped down behind wild and cultivated flowers/plants in the parks, using natural lighting with maybe a reflector or two, a great way of getting some really nice 'styled studio' type shots out side....may do again this year when I get the opportunity....
Went for a wander around the Saltbox Mansion Gardens this afternoon to see what unusual subjects I could find for today, don't look if you have a soft belly....
Actually had an idea once to go out and photog Roadkill, odd you might say but I say I live in the country the country is the animals back garden and 'we' abuse it in more way than living there, at times I wonder why people drive as fast as they do and some even go out to actually hit these poor animals, maybe I will make it a mission.....
