1st September 2020 driving over Wheeldale Moor on the North York Moors when for the third time I stopped to photograph this tree. First time around 2008 with a 'Blad and black and white film, this time with a D4S and 14mm lens. Don't know why It is showing such intense artifacts but could be the high contrast.

The artifacts make the second shot look as though it has a Sabattier effect on it. No idea why. Original file was a TIFF straight out of the camera.

Beautiful images, lone trees are one of my favourite subjects. The high contrast works very well, really shows off the tree and the effects of the wind on it's growth.
