Thank you all for the comments. Yes, it's one thing for a guy to ask a guy for a fotie and quite another for a guy to ask a gal for a fotie. At least, it is for me. So much has to do with the dynamic of the moment; sometimes you feel comfy asking, while other times not. (Although that doesn't mean I'm necessarily comfortable asking guys for a fotie. Indeed, a pimp-like fellow in San Francisco the other day took umbrage with me when he caught me snapping a surreptitious fotie of him; I could have asked him but I didn't--and therein lay the thesis of his umbrage--and he was quite clear with me that I shouldn't have done so.)
