Lute Maker

Fantastic :) I love the portrait shots and also the equipment in the background. I have a fascination for this sort of thing, and would love a workshop like that. Not wishing to be controversial, but I like the shot as is without further cropping.

I didn't want to be rude and assume that there is camera shake there, it's hard to tell from a low res image - the visible artefact could have come about from the downsizing or lack of image sharpening. A simple "Yes I'm afraid there is some camera shake" from the author would have been helpful, instead of the back and fourth that didn't help anyone.

I suspect Rob was excited about the prospect of giving the instrument a test drive over the coming week before it goes on to its new owner. He was all aquiver from expectation! :) I'm hoping he'll post a video of it him and it in action. You wait, that will be a treat (no pressure Rob! ;) ).

Thanks for ALL the comments, they are very much appreciated. Lee's included. Just don't take yourself too seriously, Lee. We can't all rise to your exalted level...

Thanks, gents.

I did try taking a bit off the top, Pete, but I wasn't happy losing some of the tools. I agree, though, it could do with a trim - I just never settled on how much, so gave up!

Maybe just enough to crop out the horizontal strip light Rob? - then the tools are still in frame

You can just sense the pride in his work radiating through that first shot - that's tough to capture hand-held ;)

Cheers, Chris. I only had a few seconds. I was there to pick up the lute, just before he headed out. I'm very happy with what I managed under the circumferences ;)

Im going against the grain Rob

Im drawn more to the 2nd for some reason. Probably the fact hes inspecting him workmanship bit like myself on a daily basis :D:D

That is a fab looking instrument Rob, and Jonathan look so very pleased with his achievement of which i am not surprised i am sure its sounds so very sweet.

As for camera shake i wouldn't loose no sleep over it to be honest anyone who find this to be an issues in my opinion is being pedantic........!!

These are great documentary style photos & i like the BW treatment to.
