Hi Nick

sounds like your winding it too far?? dont have any experience of the 645 my self ...
have you tried searching on you tube for a tutorial vid

does this one help

anyway ... feel free to pop into our welcome section and say hi here ... its not essential ... but its nice :)

Actually it is probably the other way round and you are not winding the film into the start position. Never used this particular camera but usually you load the film and then wind some film onto the take-up spool to match up with an start index point. You then load the back / holder and wind the crank on the body until the film stops. Then you have 16 exposures. After you have finished shooting you wind the film off the spool, open the back, remove the full spool and lick and stick the film tab down and switch the empty spool back into the take-up position

Here's a clearer video.

By the way, welcome to RPF, especially as you're shooting film!!.

hi guys ta for this we are loading as per video but our camera only winds on once before shutter is cocked and ready to go, not 2 or 3 times as per video. is camera broken? possibly

Hi Nick ... Not being a particular expert in this area it's hard to say ...
I could, if you would like, take a look at it ... Or point you in the direction of someone ...
I work in sight 2 sound in Worcester ... I'm there this Saturday ...
Alternativly if you took it to sight 2 sound in Gloucester and asked to speak to Allan, he is pretty nifty we this sort of thing ... Any good to you?
