His work is in a book I'm reading. Seems like he places loads of strips of film together in a larger format camera, possibly he makes the camera himself.

I know what you mean Pete. Once you get into the fine art side of photography the general appeal can narrow. I like the idea of taking shots with multiple strips of film on the back at the same time. The resulting photographs tell a little of the story of the shooting process as well as the image.
