Man, those reflections in #1 are something else - the water must have been smooth as glass!

Did you use a polarizer at all?

Love the strong sculptural feeling of #3 - agree with Pete (the cropper) Askew around a crop off the top :)

Hi Pete,

I mightl ook at the crop this evening and post it for comment. I can have a play with the second too. It does need something more!

Hi Chris,

I was lucky enough to catch a drop in the breeze. I did use a polariser on all the shots. I had to take the second quickly as there were a couple of people walking up behind me. It was the only time that section was empty.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Hi Pete, Chris,

What about these two alternatives based on your suggestions?

Comments and advice appreciated as always.

That's a pretty funky bridge!
How are you finding the panny then? Getting used to it now?
I bought a 18-55 lens for the d50 today so that's replaced the panny for me as carry round cam for the time being!

Anyway, I like the square crop, I think I'd have done that!

Hi Pete,

For the second I use two presets in lightroom, the WoW #7 and Punch. Sometimes I find the presets also make a mess of things so play with a few manual adjustments till it looks right to me.

Hello Hamish

Thanks for the comment on the crop. I am still experimenting and learning. Yes I am getting used to the Panny. I actualy like using the EVF as it has a more SLR feel. I also like the extra width the lens gives me. It makes for a good take anywhere camera.

My daughter is now getting a D100 with 35-80 lens. I also have an old unused 28-200 Tamron she can play with. The Panny is all mine now; unless the wife steps in........................it's cute and small, girls like that sort of thing.

How are you finding the 18-55? I do like the 18-70 I use generally.

Only got it today mate, but seems ok so far, the vr is a Bice thing to have on a normal zoom and it's nice and light wieght! I'm thinking of getting a d40 too now for the extra weight loss! The d3 is bad for my back!
I'll let you know how I get on with it if you like, I'm not sure how it stacks up against the 18-70 ... I might have had a particularly good one, but I personally think that is a very under rated lens! Got some great quality shots with it and my d70s!

Hi Hamish,

Let me know. Especially the lens. I may have to consider a more appropriate lens for my Daughter at Christmas, possiby an independent superzoom?

Nice architecture shots, Milan! I love the reflections in the first. I wish the top wasn't cut off that building on the right, but nothing to be done about that without stitching, I suppose. In any case, nicely done. I can't see #3, by the way. It says it's private and it's not appearing in my screen.

I'm going to take it out today ill post some un-pp'd shots for you!

Have a look out for the tamron 18-200 ... It's been superseded twice now (18-250 & 18-270vc) even the 18-270 is down to £300 now so you should get a s/h 18-200 for £100 I'd have thought!
