My initial Instax images were bothering me due to the soft focus. I woke up this morning realizing that the damn thing has two focus options (0.9-3m and 3m-infinity) and that maybe it defaults close-up mode when turned on. Up I got and checked. Sure enough, it defaults to close-up mode when turned on.

Here are a couple from this morning that I selected the proper focus for prior to shooting.

Boom! (Dan strikes again). Yes, that has caught me out a couple times, and the dark, neutral, light options.

Your camera seems to have a fondness for trucks...That's a beautiful orangey-red.

I've had the same focus issues Brian - I suspect it's set close-up because it's a 'party camera' primarily - but it is a pain that it defaults to that every time!

I will pay more attention on my next shoot with it - I bet I'll get sharper results

These shots are excellent - really nice - great subjects for the format, especially the orange car

Nice sharpness now as well
