Movinette, Kodak Baby Brownie, Instamatic And Impulse

Good luck, Brian. I'm impressed with this Impulse. Susan has a Polaroid SX-70 lost in a cupboard or garage - looking forward to locating it to see how much better the quality is. Ansel Adams rates them very highly in his book.
Well,...I got the dark slide to eject and then shot my first frame. There is no image. Its totally white-ish and some crazing has developed.

@Brian Moore Did you use the Impossible 600 film? I've just read that some of these cameras need the Impossible PX70 film, and if you use the 600 all you get is white...
The film I have is PZ 600 Silver Shade Cool, @Rob MacKillop. Its designed for the Spectra. (PX70 is for the SX-70 I do believe.) The spectra image size is larger than the 600 or the SX-70 film.

I'm hoping the reason for the white in the first shot is because I neglected to shield the film properly when it ejected. It is apparently VERY sensitive to light upon ejection. (I was admiring the lovely blue tone of the undeveloped film for a moment then suddenly remembered I needed to shield it.)

I just took another shot, using the empty film box to capture the film as it ejected. I'll see how it looks in a few minutes.

Here's hoping...

Some people tape a sheet of black card where the film will emerge into the light. The first five seconds are apparently really crucial to development (I'm doing some reading!).

My next attempt will be to use the dark slide as a shield. Impossible Project has a video showing how on their site.

I think they did too. They used to have a B&W and a colour film and then brought out the newer intense film. That seems to be all they are selling at the moment. I suspect t might be down t production volume and the number of machines they have running.

That's my guess, Pete. They'll do a production run of this or that and then maybe do a different emulsion and then a different one, etc. It seems they are continually modifying the emulsions. Its still a work in progress I believe.
