I don't know what it is about this shot but I like it:).

It sure may be just an average shot to most of you so, I'd like your thoughts just to see if anyone can pick out why I like it , because I'm not sure:confused:.
(I know I'm the only one who should really be able to say what I like about it !:eek:)

I really like when two elements are put together in a natural history shot. Good composition and a non distracting background.
 
It's the way the green stem is placed against the non green backdrop, and the purple flower agains the green backdrop.

Thanks Steve I think you've hit the nail on the head for me there.


I agree and it works well fro me too. The gradient does help keep the focus of the main subjects doesn't it? Is it natural?
Yes the gradient is natural. the green area was a grass bank and the lighter area is the path that runs alongside it.
I'd like to say it was intentional but it was more of a happy accident LOL!!!
