I took this shot at The Getty Center in Malibu, California. Something about that big wall and the diagonal shadow and the girl down below,...I liked all this. But I also wanted to show the window straight across. In truth, I wanted everything in the frame, but it wasn't possible so I compromised and shot what you see.

I used my Canon F-1 with a 28mm Canon FD lens. I can't remember what film.

Love the texture on the wall Brian. I think the composition works really well. I like the fact that the LH side of the window is contiguous with the shadow and you'd have lost that if you could have centred the view. And the girl is a bonus in the shot - that little hidden extra that you would find eventually even if she wasn't referenced in the title. Another great shot!

I really like the effect that your films produce.
Thank you, Paul. I don't do any PP on the pictures, except that occasionally I'll find it necessary to add a little fill light and lately I've done a few crops (on the digital images). I didn't touch this photo at all after scanning it in. By the way, I process B&W here at home, but I send color rolls out. (At least for now.) I don't get prints when I get the color rolls processed; I only get negs. Then I scan them in myself. (This keeps my film costs very low.) When I need a print I can send one out. Thanks again, Paul.

even if she wasn't referenced in the title
Thanks for your comments, Pete. As to the one I've quoted it is interesting you should say that. My first instinct was to not reference the girl at all, and just call the image "Wall" or something, thus leaving the presence of the girl to be dicovered. Meybe I'll go back and change the title on the blog. Anyway, thanks again, Pete!
