This is Palm Avenue in Huntington Beach, California. It's aptly named.

I took this shot about 6am one morning with my Holga 120N and Kodak Tri-X film. I developed the film in Rodinal.

Now that Brian, is top notch!!! Like it very much! :) the trees look like the either had a good sense of growth and heading to the sun, or they've had a right battering over the years

Thanks a lot, Dan. I think it's the prevailing wind that bends the palm trees permanently over time. And yes, they've suffered their fair share of breezy days.

Great shot... perfect Holga material!
How do you find it as a camera? Ive got one knocking about the place .. i dont think i have put a film through it yet!

I love mine. Actually I have two. I don't shoot with them all that often, but I find the images interesting. At the moment I prefer shooting color through the Holgas. Ektar and Portra 400 bith turn out good vivid color and the slight distortion from the plastic lens is appealing. Thanks Hamish.

A very arresting image and it seems to be paradoxically somewhere between sinister and peaceful.
Thanks, Paul. I can attest that in real life it was more peaceful than sinister that morning. Thanks again.

Because that's where the sun is! :-)

Despite appearances, Southern Cal is actually too cold for coconut palms. These are king palms or fan palms, I think.

Thanks a lot, Pete. It was one of those spur of the moment things. Driving along, glanced down that road, liked the look of the palms and the mist in the distance, stopped car, snapped photo. It was morning mist only, as it's very close to the ocean, and it burned off soon enough to reveal a typically sunny California day. Every picture tells a story, but it's not always the real story. Anyway,...thanks again Pete.
