I can say that probably within this Month there will be a statement from Fuji releasing details & it will be on show at Focus, 3 lenses wide/standard & tele no zooms all will be razor sharp & the body will be slightly bigger than the X100. We are looking forward to it very much !! This is the little snippet of info we have been given.

Certainly looks interesting ...
But still no news on how the vf will work ... That's all I'm bothered about really, else it's just another CSC ...
Hybrid finder and it's somthing a bit more special IMO!

My dream has been of a digital Contax G2. In many ways, the new Fuji seems to be exactly that. Prime lenses prompt the viewfinder to match the view. It is the classic photojournalists kit in the beginning. If you need big zooms, there are still loads of dSLRs from which to choose. As with the X100 and X10, Fuji seems to be targeting a very definable market, rather than trying to be all things to all people. They are aiming at #3 status in the very near future, and seem to be doing it one constituency at a time.

The X100 drew all manner of criticism from gear-heads, but has proved to be every bit a shooter's camera. Yes, it in no way is a CaNikon knock off. It is like no other camera on the market, but is simply superior in the hands of someone who understands it. I expect that the next cameras from Fuji will be the same—pure Fuji—no CaNikon. Eat it.

Anyone who ore orders something that hasn't been officially announced is a moron and frankly the worst kind of child of capitalism! ;)

Did you hear about those people who got trampled in to a shop trying to get the latest Nike air Jordan shoes ...
Not quite as bad as them... but nearly

On the other hand, it got me the very first Nikon D700 to be delivered in Canada with a few days for testing prior to leaving on a major photo adventure. I don't generally buy version 1.0 of anything digital, but I had been shooting with a D300 which had a nearly identical body, and the low-light excellence of the D3 electronics were very well documented. What could possibly go wrong? Luckily nothing whatever did, and it has been an excellent camera.

Well, lucky I'd say Larry! You must have trusted the supplier... A lot!
Scrap the moron bit then as I know you not one of them ... Child of capitalism ... Can you live with that?
I think even Marx admitted to being a product of his time ;)

As I explained, the camera was new, but the elements were well proven. Had it been a disaster, I deal with an excellent and very personal brick and mortar store who would have taken it back. I was shooting D300, but doing mostly available darkness, I envied the capability of the D3.

My photography is probably well beyond 90% people-photography, so the size and loudness of the D3 were off-putting. I certainly did not need the 300k actuations before first maintenance, dual card-slots or high frame rate. I did not need its level of weatherproofing. Were I still a staff photographer shooting sports for meat, I would have pestered my boss for a D3 until he bought me one or fired me. Now all but the low light capability worked against it. The D700 was perfect for my photography—with the exception that to get the same angular coverage as the D300, you need a domestic Sherpa to haul it. God understood this and gave us the X100! :D

As a self-proclaimed libertarian conservative, I find the term "capitalism" not a pejorative. Anything worth doing well, is worth doing for money.

As are we all.
