The lens has a fixed focal length of 27mm (41mm in 35mm format equivalent), offering a field of view similar to that of the human eye, capturing each scene as precisely and naturally as you see it. It includes a glass moulded aspheric element which reduces image distortion as much as possible. You can explore different ideas dependent on the scene you’re shooting, e.g. using your own footwork to adjust the distance between yourself and your subject, or by changing the shooting angle, enabling you to enjoy a broad range of photography.

In low-light indoor portrait shots or for close-ups of accessories / plates of food, the flash controls its output to reduce highlight blowout. Wireless image transfer allowing you to instantly transfer high quality images to a mobile device or computer
· The wireless image transfer function allows users to transfer their shots immediately to their smartphone or tablet PC. It broadens the enjoyment of photography through the easy uploading of your favourite images to social networking sites or just enabling you to share them with your friends.
· The camera has a built-in wireless image transfer function that uses the dedicated “FUJIFILM Camera App”, available as a free download, to instantly transfer and save your favourite photos to a smartphone or tablet PC. Beautiful images of your choice can be transferred with the Wi-Fi button ready for uploading to SNS or sharing with friends.
· Users can also view and import pictures and videos to the camera from a smartphone or tablet PC. The function can also retrieve location data from your smartphone to add the information to pictures you take.

Get creative with your photography by employing popular special effects in-camera
· With eight advanced Art Filters, users can add special effects pre-image capture: namely Toy Camera, Miniature, Dynamic Tone, Pop Colour, Soft Focus, High Key, Low Key and Partial Colour. the x-pro 1 and x-e1 are both getting firmware upgrades to match the x-m1's features. there's also new firmware for the lenses to improve autofocus times (except the 55-200mm which they say shipped with the new firmware)

In the "Fn BUTTON" on the SHOOTING MENU, selection of "Fn BUTTON" or "▼SELECTOR" is added. The default setting of the added Fn function (No.2) is "Focus Frame Selection".

Fuji look like they're working hard to leverage the X lenses and X-Trans sensor, and build-out a range of models at various price points.
They have broken their previous release cycle as well - and inserted this in mid-year for summer availability
Has some nice looking features - the tilt-able LCD is useful, and the wifi connectivity is also something I expect to see in many future models.
Firmware upgrades to the existing models are also a welcome sign that Fuji continue to develop their products long after they are released.

Giving it serious consideration as a second camera to the X-Pro1. A long time back, I shot with the classic bridge cameras, Coolpix 990, 5000 and 8400, all of which had articulated LCDs. Even that small, they were superb cameras for the street. The opening composite on this page was shot over a ten to fifteen minute bus ride, capturing the frolic of a young mother and her toddler. The camera was in plain view on my lap, but went unnoticed or unacknowledged. Move the camera out of the line of sight and people relax.

The body alone is $700US, and the new zoom adds only $100 to the price when bought together. It should produce exactly the same quality as the X-Pro1. Since it is tiny and light, it would be nice to be able to mount a wide angle on it and use the XP1 with the normal or long lens. However, it is the articulated LCD that is its main qualification for employment.

I'm liking the articulated screen, after getting rid of my Yashica D TLR I'm missing that ability to take pictures without looking like I'm looking at someone!
Did anyone see the Vivian Maier doc on "Imagine" last night? seeing that made me miss my TLR even more! seriously looking into getting another now...
The quality of her photos are outstanding, both the wife and I sat in amazement, and I was recognising some of the many places in Chicago I visited at the same time.
the articulated screen might sway me away from a Ricoh GR D if I get another more compact camera, plus I have another wedding to photograph in Paris later this year ( Brother in Law) and I might consider getting one of these as a replacement for the cumbersome DSLR

I really like the look of this, but I'm still hankering after an X100 when funds permit. I'm thinking I may trade my X10 for one and keep my 5D.
