Nice Photographer Interview

"Ilford HP-5 is a very good film, but the other one – FP-4 is not very good. And Pan F – it’s not Pantatomic X, I can assure you. It’s terrible…just awful."

Thanks Steve, interesting and I like quite a few of the shots. His last book looks to be worth investigating too.

I'll put the comment about the two Ilford films (that have been around for decades) to one side. Of the ones he's mentioned, HP5 has probably changed the most (and I actually preferred the 'gritiness' of the pre-'Plus' version).

I'm not knowledgeable about the film types so I'll defer...:) He was 78 when this interview was given so he may be talking about film from a long time ago. Isn't the Pantatomic film really slow as in ASA 25 or something? Maybe that has something to do with it. I have some of that Ilford film, but I have been shooting TMax so far. When I run out of the TMax I'm going to switch to the Ilford.

I have these two books. They very nice. I actually prefer the less expensive one called Imprints.
