Nikon D200 / D300

I've been using Nikon film cameras since the early 70's and still have a number of them taking up space in my house - a Nikkormat, three F's, an F2, and an F3.

I started shooting digital 4 or 5 years ago with the purchase of an Olympus E-20n. That was sold and replaced with a D200, then a second D200 for my wife - sold one D200 to buy a D300 and then sold the second D200 to buy a second D300. My most recent purchase was another D200 to have converted to infrared.

When shooting visible light with no particular goal in mind, I usually carry a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8, a Nikon 35-70 f/2.8D, and a Nikon 70-300 VR. For macro shots I use a couple of old manual focus Series 1 Vivitars (90mm f/2.5 and 105mm f/2.5) and a Tamron 180mm f/3.5 Macro. When chasing birds - a Nikon 300mm f/4, Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8, Sigma 400mm f/5.6, or Nikon 500mm f/4. A Sigma 1.4x extender works very well on the 120-300 and reasonably well on the 300 f/4.

When shooting infrared I pretty much stick to the Nikon 18-70 AF-S and occasionally the 18-200 VR.

Hi Cal

Id love to see some of the Ultra violet Photos
i had thought about converting a d50 for that purpose but, but a lack of funds and time got in the way.
did you have the filter removed completely or did you have a specialist filter installed
