I bought a flash gun on Ebay a while ago and the MC-30 was also in the box. My camera is not compatible with it so I just have it laying around. It is genuine Nikon and in mint condition and going free to anyone who will cover the delivery cost which will probably be a few quid once it is boxed and wrapped.
As far as I can tell it is a remote cable shutter release with a two stage shutter button and a latching mechanism. I presume this is for bulb exposures.
