Old Ironsides before the storm

This was taken early morning...just down the street from me.

We are under a Blizzard Watch for tomorrow...expecting 12-24 or more inches of snow with winds over 50 mph.

Makes me wonder how many of those this old girl has seen.

love the tones Glenn and that erie sky is scary,,

Thank you Pete. If you can believe it...that's right outside one of my wife's (Dean of a School of Nursing) classroom buildings. The view from the student lodge would be too distracting for me.

Julian...Thank you. The forecast is even more scary. We may have one of the top 5 storms in history!

Thank you Rob...I would recommend a spring or even better fall visit. Boston is an amazing city...very walk-able and full of history. Of course it may be the wrong side of history for you. ;) The New England coast is wonderful and the mountains are very beautiful in the fall. I'm not a bad tour guide btw.

lol, we're getting some of that snow too, problem is i have to work it... [doh] must remember not to get smart with the idiots that slide off the road at 60mph this time..

again, great processing, dark and full of drama suits this scene well.

Best of luck with the storm - news on the West Coast is even talking it up - one of the worst in recorded history...

Love the ink blue/black on the shot, and that sky to die for

We have those idiots cousins here. The storm has arrived, and they are out proving how fast they can drive.

A beautiful photograph Glenn. Great tones, the clouds are so moody, and I really enjoy the detail on the ship.

Beth...I would normally agree with you...but this one is really turning out to be at least a top 5. Looking out our window over Boston Harbor...it is about to disappear right now. This and the worst is yet to come...and last all night! They hardly ever close the airport and all the roads...and then there's the rescheduled Bruins hockey game!

top 5 is a fine description, but storm of the century when we just heard that for sandy, and irene the year before? in fact, there's been a storm of the century every year since the turn of the century.

best of luck to you guys though. hope the power stays on and things don't get too rough. i think we're supposed to get piddly 5" tonight or tomorrow night. we did the 24" thing about 3 years ago, shut the state down for 4 or 5 days once the snow stopped falling.
