Olympus Trip 35

I’m certainly not the first and I suspect I won’t be the last to write a little something about the Olympus Trip 35.
I have read this camera had sales figures of around 10,000,000. Olympus used the ‘trip’ moniker on a lot of cameras subsequent to the one in question here, so who knows how many trip 35′s were sold? What is clear is that the number is vast! You only need to go on eBay and see how many are for sale at any one time. Just search for ‘Olympus trip’ on google and you will find entire websites dedicated to the things.
This camera is a popular little snapper and has been since it hit the market in the late 60′s.

It's a famous camera, but I've never used one. I keep seeing them on eBay, and often wonder if I should bid. They seem to have a bit of a cult following...

Perhaps we should have a Trip 35 summer competition?

Just buy one Rob, really, they are one of those cameras everyone should own ...

A nice idea David ... I was going to suggest people post or link to posts of photos taken with a trip 35 in this thread.

:D to ebay/charity shops, AWAY! :D

Loving that idea!!!
I had a trip given to me by my uncle around when my daughter was born...... it didn't work....
Cheers unc. Lol

I'm down for that idea....... My wife is going to kill me! Lol

I keep missing out on one, but I don't know if it's because I've got a thing for Olympus film cameras of late, or just curiosity as to why I want one! I've got it's older, more worldly 35SP Rangefinder which I won recently, mint, apart from sticky seals, which I replaced myself, and I'm running a film thru it now.
But just because they are so ubiquitous, I really should pick up a Trip 35

You can also say 'check out the size of my light sensor' :D

Just won a rather nice Trip 35 off Ebay, so count me in!
"Another package for you ".... " camera?" The wife says, I tell her I'm restoring them to sell, keep or give away as gifts to friends who don't yet have the classic camera bug, which is partially true, but don't know how long she will keep believing me! I've got a backlog of cameras to clean up, find out how to fix ( Konica s2's sticky shutters) and most have stick seals O10, 2 Electro 35's, and a Yashica Minister D which arrived today, which needs seals doing and the stiff aperture dials looking at.....

My dad knows the delivery guy by name now *sigh* lol

Just got my Trip 35, excellent condition, only the blades are stuck, either that or the selenium lightmeter is shot, so, not happy, will have to return it, or take it apart to free up the blades, if it's that....

So in a an attempt to slake my P&S therapy need, I won a Yashica T3 for £22.50, fascinated by the look down viewfinder, ugly camera though, hopefully this one is fine!
