Path to the furnace

Don’t know what that is, Brian, but I agree with the sense of foreboding.
It was a film that came out last year or the year before. It's about Auschwitz death camp and the family of the camp commander, who lived an idyllic life just outside the camp walls. For me the sound was a major part of the film.

Yes, such thoughts entered my mind with this photo, but knowing that is decidedly not an evil place helps me banish such thoughts.
I actually feel bad hanging my negative thought over this picture. It certainly doesn’t deserve to be compared with such evil. Sorry Rob!

I shouldn't have to say this, but the comments are interesting and absolutely not out of place. I don't like this photo that much, I don't know why, maybe because everyone has their own taste even if they don't know it themselves. I don't know.
Your negative thought can be a positive thought for someone else, Brian.

Whereas I do. Just some more than others! And this is one of those.

The title didn’t really invoke any negative associations for me and neither does the image. What I do see is a superb composition and gorgeous lighting. Although the chimney catches my eye, it is the gap in the trees in the distance where it lands and then it jumps back to that tiny highlight to the left. That, in turn, brings me back to the puddle and the light in it. An absorbing image all round.
