Patrons of The Thirsty Isle

The Thirsty Isle is a bar in Long Beach, California. Visited there for a brew with some friends after work a week or two ago.

Its amazing what the Oly XA can do in dim light. This place was dim!

These two fellows were seated behind me. I placed the camera on the table next to me and snapped the shutter. Because I had my back to them I had no idea what I'd get in the frame.

Even without it being a blind shot, it's a damned good composition and very atmospheric. Like the guy in the hatch playing with his mobile. I assume from the expressions on the faces of the drinkers that there is another TV screen at the other end of the bar.

Thanks very much, Pete. The guy in the hatch is the "chef". (To my surprise, the carne asada quesadilla he made me was delicious!) And yes, the two patrons are watching a baseball game on a big screen to their front. Thanks again, Pete.
