Earlier today, Hamish said He may be interested in buying this from Me..

I enjoy this lens, beautiful contrast, bold colour, sharp, light etc etc...

My reason for selling is I have moved from a Canon 40D to a 5Dc (mk1)...

On the rear mount of the lens is a protruding part that catches the mirror on the 5D, not the 40D...

So I fished it out of the cupboard .... Damn blast... I noticed a speck of fungus had appeared behind the front element... No good trying to fob it off on Hamish now...

I previously thought the protruding part was metal so I was on my way to the hacksaw when I realised it was plastic... Out with the Opinel... swoop, clean cut, straight off... It now fits (safely) on the 5D !!!

I'll grab some shots tomorrow with it..

If it aint broke, break it!
Nice one, glad you found a solution to your problem...
So what to do about the fungus?

to be fair, it shouldnt really cause much issue unless it spreads ... ive never seen fungus spread that fast, especially not in our climate ... but its always good to get these things early!

You got the kit to get into it?

I've had my jupiter 9 in pieces before but I reckon the pentax will be more complicated,, it's only a tiny speck so I'm not too fussed... No fungus 6 months ago so I'm worried about my storage... time to find a better cupboard me thinks... You burning the midnight oil too!

A bit... Watching a program on tv about a compulsive hoarder ... It's way past my bedtime, but it's very good tele!

You tube is your freind!
You might need some special spanner things ... Unless you have some?
Can't think what they are called ... I'll see if I can remember/find out if you don't have some?

Hoarder is he ... I find it fascinating!
Brilliant program, fantastic display of human nature from one person local to him ...

Anyway ...
Chck this out might help

I feel I may teaching a granny to suck eggs a bit ... Not had much experience, just talked to people who do (used to work in the trade, we used to get people with dirty lenses etc in the shop)
