Apparently the worlds first combined steam/hydroelectric power station ... now rich people live in it!

Very nice again Hamish. And another tree!! My favourite is the first though with the opposing diagonals (content and lead line). I like the framing of the tower and the position of tree and the way it helps divide up the frame. I think this might be part of why I like square framing so much. It is sort of neutral if you follow me and the content and composition become the most important visual components. What do you think? Am I talking rubbish?!

I'd be tempted to straighten the second a tad.

I like how in number 3 the chimney is framed by the branch of the tree. (Thus suggestive of Mother Nature's resilience and domination over man's pathetic attempts to control the Earth! ;))

I think you may have stumbled upon the root (!) cause of Hamish's reluctance to photograph trees. He is a child of the teaming metropolis of Worcester and has a deep seated reluctance to acknowledge the power and resilience of Mother Nature over the man-made world. I knew there must be a deep-seated psychological reason behind it. Well spotted!! :)

Oh no...... Here they both go again!! Eerrrr, what ev he sed yeah?! :D :D

#3 - it's a cool looking chimney under a tree :D

I have no idea where to start!
Thanks I think (for the good bits)

How is the bridge wonky and the tower not ... My brain does not compute!
