Took a random trip to Blackpool this weekend with my Girlfriend just to get away from the house and my brother mainly haha!

The weather was really quite crap most the time but the sun crept out every now and again therefore so did the camera :D

Here's a few shots from the weekend one of which im particularly chuffed about since i cant get my Girlfriend to pose this way very often ;)

What a great series of pictures there Curt. Nice processing on them all too. The first is a super 'setting the scene' shot although I'd be tempted to crop just a tiny bit off the sky. I like the second bicycle shot better then the first even though the first is probably a more 'classical' composition. The vignette on the gull shot works well, just a shame there's not a touch more separation between the feet and the rail. Nice nighttime skyline too (does it tip a bit to the right). And last shot is very nicely worked - what about burning the foreground down a bit more though?

You must be very pleased with them.

Thanks a lot Pete! Yep I am very pleased with them :) I agree with the crop on top image didn't notice how it looks slightly too much, and yeah I rarely use vignettes but I thought it went really well with the gull in b&w :),
and as for the bicycle shot I also prefer the second one I'm not sure why, but thought I would include both :)

Nice mix of shots there. I particularly like the evening shot wit the "Pepsi Max" in the distance, the B/W PP on the Gull and the focus on the "Glamour" shot...

Thanks Glen :p yeah that's pepsi lol the best thing in Blackpool :D

Thanks Tim

The shot with the gull is a very nice composition and generally they are all good shots. The last one is quite tasteful, sometimes shots like that can look a bit cheap and vulgar. I think the last shot would be really good if the hand across the chest was a bit lighter though.

Very Nice matey ...
Some nice pp ....
You have def captured the bleakness of the north :)

That could have been our first shot in the "nudes and glamour" section!
shall i move it across?

Thanks Hamish! Yeah I'm quite chuffed :) an yeah you can if you like :)

~Curt

tell you what, start a new thread with just that photo ...
would be nice to have a first proper thread in that section!
someone needs to break the seal of that forum ... you might as well be the man to do it!

Thanks Paul! The main achievement of the last shot was getting her to pose for me haha but since I drove and we were 'on holiday' she agreed to pose haha! And thanks Hamish I am pretty chuffed with them :) and you can move if you like ^.^

nice set of images, i like them all, particularly the second one with the tower & wheel in back ground.

As for the last one, wow nice tatts, i also like the focus of the image. I bet the GF is pretty chuffed with this image.

Daz

Hahaha thanks Daz they certainly are either way you mean it! haha!

eh up - it's grim up North! ;)

Looks like you had a good weekend Curt, sun or no sun.

I like the 2nd cycle shot as well - I think it's the strong image of the cycle frame repeating.

Top marks for getting the GF to pose - and for getting her ok to post here.

you did get her ok, right?? ;) ;) ;)

Just adding a couple more photos from the weekend that I have got around to doing a tad of PP =D

And just the re-cropped version of another, suggested by Pete.

Thanks for viewing!

Haha thanks Chris, yeah I did have a nice weekend =p

and ha! yeah I got the OK to upload it.....I think she secretly quite likes it ;) hehe

and as for the bicycle shot I also think its because of the narrow DOF, as I took the shot of the wheels from further back to fit them all in, a lot more of the image was in focus.

No idea :s was the first picture I actually took, as they were right outside the Travelodge! I thought maybe a tacky way of copying the American multi-coloured beach houses?
