This photo looks almost too pristine for the subject.
I definitely prefer the tighter crop in #2 and its worth looking at cropping down even further to just below his hands.
Ok so here is a BW conversion in Lightroom. I have used a pre-set that Hamish made us here on RPF (Cheers Mate) I then lowered exposure slightly and upped the blacks slightly.
This guy is called Alan, Hes such a nice guy, lived on the streets for so long he doest remember what its like to live in a house. He is happy with his life and wouldn't change it. He is a very polite and very posh sounding chap with maybe a south Cheshire accent.

Wonderful and respectful. I always find it quite difficult to make pictures of homeless people. Just feel like a voyeur, not able to help really.... Envious, would have liked to make this one myself...
thanks Rense, its is a hard & sad subject unfortuntaley but as i am trying to get more into street photography EVERY person is a target regardless of there lifestyle. I am pretty chuffed with this shot though
Daz - like the B&W a lot - in taking out the colour, especially the red background, the image now focusses on the guys face more, and the texture the passage of time has left.
