Constable meets Caravaggio! What stunning colour and a perfect composition. Do you own a narrow boat Ralph? It must be one of the most relaxing ways to spend leisure time. The only canal down here seems to be the one connecting the hydro electric stations to balance output. Very boring compared with this one of yours.

Many thanks, Tony, I appreciate tour kind words. Yes, we are very fortunate in regard to having a boat. Up until recently, though, our only way on to the canals was via a hire boat. I've been enjoying canal holidays, when opportunity presented, for the best part of forty years, my wife a tad longer than that.
Well, the amazing sky above in your great photo makes up for any blandness in the canal itself
