So, what did you get?

Photography wise: the pentacon 50mm , and Minolta 200mm (cheers Hamish), timer remote, manfrotto tripod, online photography course.
I'm not seeing my parents till 5th Jan, but I'm getting a battery grip off them - I've asked for something else but can't remember what it is now.. It'll be a surprise lol!

Also a book. "Martha Graham: Sixteen Dances in Photographs" by Barbara Morgan. A good friend got it from a neighbor who has a large number of photography books.

Original copyright was 1941. The one I now have was printed in 1980. It is signed by the author. (Well, someone has signed the author's name, but there is no salutation of any kind, so maybe its not the author's sig. Or maybe it is.) Some of Morgan's photos are quite remarkable. I found myself wondering how she made some of the images. (Dancers in movement and lighting dim yet no blur.) Turns out all of the images were taken in Morgan's own studio or in a rental studio but none were taken in performance. (I had assumed they were performance shots.) She used a 4x5 Speed Graphic at 1/500 as well as off camera flash and lighting of numerous kinds intended to enhance the dramatic effects of the movement or positioning or costumes. Fascinating stuff.

I got a small Lowenpro case for my lumix TZ27, the Extended versions of Lord of the Rings trilogy on Blu-Ray, first three series of Channel 4 series Misfits on Blu-Ray, an AC/DC CD and a bottle of Old Pulteney Whisky.
