Some X100 street shots

Jim Kuo

The man in the hat
After owning it for a few weeks and have been using it quite a bit, I still like this camera. Occasionally, I do wish it was a bit more responsive, but this isn't an issue that I didn't know already. I don't expect it to behave like an DSLR.

Having said that, I really appreciate its discreteness, especially shooting on streets in strangers' faces :-).

A few shots,

Thanks Pete :)

For #2, I didn't realise what I had taken at the time until I saw the photo on my monitor at home! :D

contrary to Pete, id quite like to see the second one in colour ...
the first one suits colour to my eye, and makes a great shot i think
what sort of shutter speed did you use, you have managed very good back ground blur!

#1 was at 1/30, it was also a lucky shot, that was one of the three successful panning shots out of several dozens attempted that afternoon. I left it in colour because rider's green shirt and the black dominated background. I thought of turning it into B/W, but it might lose some clarity. However, I think I will have a play and see how it turns out.

#2 was at 1/150 and it was a happy accident. I meant to capture the sea of pedestrians crossing the intersection at Oxford street at light change. I mis-timed and this car crossed the road instead... ;)

Oh, the painted legs in the original photo wasn't that visible. They were in faint purple with grey background. I turned it into B/W so I could play with the purple and other filters to make those legs more vivid.

I really like the motion blur and saturated colours in #1 - nicely done

nice, I like the second as Pete said it make you look twice and think about the shot
