Star trails over the Australian Outback by photographer Lincoln Harrison - Telegraph

Australian photographer Lincoln Harrison spends hours with his camera set on a tripod in the Australian Outback trained on the night sky. He then joins hundreds of images of the foreground and the stars together to create magnificent star trail pictures of beauty spots near Lake Eppalock in the southern state of Victoria. The colourful spirals are the result of the Earth moving, creating the impression that the stars are travelling across the night sky.

And here's the impressive bit

Lincoln says: ‘I bought my first camera in October 2010, a Nikon D3100.
‘I wanted something decent for general picture taking and for taking pictures of stuff I wanted to sell on ebay items.
‘I wasn't planning on getting into photography as a hobby but a week later I had about eight lenses and all the other goodies.
‘I've been shooting at least two or three times a week ever since, mainly landscapes, star trails when the conditions are just right.'

He only started photography in October 2010!!!
