Critique Welcomed Sunset At Rockpile

_AGP8264-Edit-2.jpg

I captured this image a little while back on a particularly rare evening with enough clouds to make a dramatic sunset. I don't often do exposure blends, and I know this one isn't perfect, so I welcome any constructive critiques on improving the final product. I used a 5DmkIII and 16-35mm f/2.8L II lens and blended two exposures by hand in Photoshop.

That is a beautiful sky with a blue that is most compatible with the golden glow on the rocks. The little disk of Sun is perfect and not a big washed out blob that is often very distracting. personally, I would prefer the colours to be a little less saturated. Must have been a real experience being there for this scene,

Works for me - nicely done :)

I think if it were mine ;d probbaly take a bit off the bottom - all of that first rock on the right. I know it make the horizon a bit middly but hey ho :)

Stunning image, Abram. I agree with Tom about the saturation and I agree with Dave about taking some off the bottom. However, I also agree with Aldous and Ivar that the image is superb and wonderful. (I am an agreeable fellow I guess, but I mean it. :))

Except having pity on a guy who tries to speak Spanish.

Well thank you all for the feedback. I too agree that the saturation was a bit much for me; but just having color in my image is a lot for me to deal with on its own! (I'm a monochrome guy).

Wow! What a sky - and a great location with the pools and reflections

With the sun so low in the sky, I'd be tempted to just drop a little brightness and saturation off of the foreground rocks.

They stand out a touch more than you'd expect for the lighting

Agree with others on crop - maybe to 5x7 ratio from the top, getting that horizon off the center line?
