The Breezeway

I finished work early today and was bored (I asked Chris if he wanted to go shooting, but he was up in Orange County all day - OC is the wealthy suburbia between San Diego and Los Angeles). So instead I wandered around the university campus next to my house with my camera, looking for things to shoot. Here's a shot of a pedestrian bridge that I like:

I took another shot of it back in 2010, from a different angle:

Sorry I couldn't make it DB - didn't end up getting home till after 7:30 :(

Like the current shot with all that swirly texture in the foreground grass

I love it when architects take care to design for esthetic appeal as well as utility. The people and the Smart Car in #1 give this a sense of scale and I love how the light is reflecting off the ceilings. #2 gives a better overall sense of the shape, however, and how it fits in context with buildings it connects. I really like #2. (Is that vignetting in the right corners in that 2nd one, Darren?)

No worries, Chris. Sorry you were stuck up there so late! We'll find a time soon, I'm sure.

Brian- thanks! I think that is vignetting. Not sure why there was so much. I could have eliminated it, but I like the effect.
