Well I sent the X10 to the Fuji guys, it had developed a fault with the lens ring/on off collar, had a reply from them......estimate for repair £320.00 so its coming back the take up residence as an expensive paper weight......looks like I'll have to look into what will become my next carryabouteverydaycamera :(

£320 to fix a switch on a £200 camera - blimey!

Sounds like a good excuse to look for a used X20 :)

Gutted Kev! That was from Fuji themselves? Disgusting! Modern electronics are mostly modular... Means you have to buy the module part complete; in this case the lens as I whole I'd expect, but £320!?! That's just stupid!!
Maybe sell it for parts ... Or look for a spares/repair.

Ok so here's the odd thing, I emailed Fuji asking to return the X10 as I couldn't afford the repair costs so they have returned it as promised, I cant fault their efficiency in dealing with enquiries, and I'm pretty damn chuffed that despite a note in the box saying returned as requested, we are sorry we were unable to help you thus time, the camera seems to have a new lens ring on and is working as it should, battery is now on charge to give it a test drive this evening, So result yayhay!
