The Last Day of Summer - already!

A beautiful day, here in Edinburgh, to end a beautiful week-long summer. Snow has been forecast for tomorrow!

I went to a Harp Festival, where I was to give a class, and took the opportunity to take a few photos at about 8am. It was being held in a posh private school for posh private boys. The grounds were glorious...

Hmm, I could have made more of the harps actually being made from trees, maybe positioning one by a tree. But maybe that would have looked cliched?

Loving #1 with the tilted comp to get the shadow in frame

Also #2 - beautiful setting

Did you use the pano mode on the X100 Rob - or crop a full frame?

Chris, I tried to do the pano mode, but quickly realised I didn't know how to do it, and had left the instructions at home :D So these are crops. Shame, it was the perfect place for a panorama shot.

Brian, I play the harp very badly and rarely. I was there to talk about historical Scottish music, and even run a ukulele class for those who wanted to give it a try. It was a very well attended class, surprisingly.

Kev, ta!

Nice set Rob

Ye shouldnt have mention ukelele Kev will have you giving him a lesson now as he has one sitting beside him :D:D:D

Well, I have four uke books published by Mel Bay, each with a C D, with three more about to appear. It was my first instrument, aged eight, and got me started. So, I have a soft spot for it.

My pal is a music book publisher out here on the west coast. (ADG Productions.) I wonder if he has any of your books?

I'm not a great fan of it myself, so it was odd to be surrounded by about a hundred of them!

The light was beautiful today, but already the dark clouds have moved in.

Cheers, Jim, and thanks for faving them on Flickr. I did some shots today, and you wouldn't believe the contrast in sky colour and mood. Just one day, and a different world.
