Sure, sometimes we hike up mountains, cross rivers, and roam all about to get a good shot. But other times we walk to the end of our driveway...

Or, while watching a thunder storm at night, decide to turn off all the lights, open the window, and set up the camera on a mini tripod on the coffee table for a few long exposures until nature finally cooperates

Or, laziest of all, maybe just open the back door with a hot drink in hand, snapping the shutter, then closing that cold-business back outside!

So there we are, my favorite 'lazy' shots. Hmm perhaps I should invent grand tales of adventure for all of them, let it be just our secret? :)

Wonderful pics and view Matthew. As one who wakes to an interesting...albeit very different view...I fully understand. One must continue to remind oneself of the beauty outside the window.

Thanks everyone :) As much as I like falling snow I do like that I managed to get a lightning shot given how rare it is here. To add to that adventure at the time I was shooting a mirrorless camera with no bulb setting, so I could only do exposures out to 60 seconds, and then the camera had to process for 60 seconds after each exposure... Can you imagine the nerve of that lightning to much prefer striking when the camera was processing compared to when the shutter was open?! ;) haha.

That is some view from the end of your drive ....and a magical photo too

Thanks guys. It was one of those perfect timing shots for sure, 'hmm the mountain's lighting up a little I should go take a picture' and just in the time it took me to find coat and camera and get out there it was an even warmer glow, cooperative light! :)

Jeeze - if that was the view from my driveway, I might not bother going out!
