Ok it's really bar billiards but that's not so hip! and you know me I like to be hip, crap lighting on the day poor choice of lens but I'll still take this one as I like the eye contact.

Super shot there Vic. How did you get behind a bar billiard table for goodness sake?! I like the composition. I would have cropped a bit off the LH side (by the first lamp) but this works well anyway, despite the subject ebing centred. I know it's a perspective thing, but what happens if you align the front of the table with the frame, does that pull the beam horizontal?

Thanks Pete,

I knew I was going to get croppage suggestions on this one! I looked at cropping from the left but the guy on the at the bar would have been cut in half and I kinda liked the two lamps it sort of mirrors the eyes. I levelled it using the beam although it was pretty straight to start with anyway it just needed a touch. Though about using the front edge to get level but didn't even look at it, just had a little peek and it does look better I'll do that I think.

I didn't really get behind it just rested to camera on the lip and fired away. Looking at it now it does seem to have alittle colour cast that I didn't notice.

you chaps and your croppage!

You could lose the guy at the bar, darken him up a bit and crop as Pete suggested - would help focus the shot I think, as the ball would now be bottom left.

Love the eye contact.

Agree with Chris about the crop and eye contact.

Must be an o'neils?!
I like it as it is Vic, I think it works with the chap in the centre o the frame!
Be interesting to see the crop for comparison though!
What's with the salt and pepper shakers? ;)

Hamish,

It's actually a real pub in darkest SE London not a pseudo pub chain that thinks it's a real pub. It was the pub used in the prequel to Only Fools and Horses, Rock and Chips. It's a nice night out on a weekend with real music and real pub fights.
