The Train Spotters

A detail from one of the shots taken at München Ostbahnhof today. I used an unusual approach to the PP though.

I like this very much, and how you've taken a shot back stage of those taking a shot of the steam train close up. :)

I do sort of regret not having gone over there. I only had to wait another 20 mins for the next S-Bahn but I had my luggage and was feeling tired from the early start and it looked like it was about to set of as the guard had just taken the board in. But I must keep my eye out for other opportunities at this time of year as the steam and smoke look so much more impressive when it is cold.

Gorgeous Pete

Love trains.. Probably haven't mentioned that before :D

Gods look at those who wanted get up close. Frankly your more distance shot tells a better story. Like Chris I kinda like all trains.

The thing about getting up close with something like that is that there appears to be so much detail you can close in on to get some wonderful graphic images. All that pipe work for one thing...

Steam Loco's are a little magical until you have to drive the beasts!! That loco sat in Monchengladbach Army depot for a few years one of the reasons it survived into preservation as it was kept as a war reserve loco She would be fired up and run monthly
