Thanks to seeing some recent images from Chris Bennett's full spectrum camera, I began reading up on these interesting image machines.

I discovered that with nothing more than a suitable screw on filter and some long exposures, older DSLR's and mirrorless cameras will happily render you the invisible spectrum.

Through adjustment of the f. stop and shutter speed, as well as filter used. I've only got a 720nm filter, but I've seen a few reports on other wavelengths and UV, all working to effect. Greatest limitation is the slow shutter speeds needed.
 
I especially like the 2nd one. (For a while I was shooting a lot of B&W IR with a 720nm filter on my Sigma Quattro SD. With that camera you can easily remove the IR Cut Filter.)
