updated adobe x-trans support

Mmmmm tempting

I was watching the turmoil on DPR

So many happy people, yet the professional moaners still trying to stem the tide of happiness, and claim that the update didn't fix anything :D

The doom sayers have had a field day while Adobe lagged on their updates, and now they are desperately looking for anything to point at that might still be whinge worthy.

Will download it myself today and have a play

Yes, I was reading the comments for fun. I need a new hobby. I know - I could make some photographs! [doh]

I also see a lot of the moaners don't read at all - they just pump out views. DPR stated clearly that the conversions are pretty much at default, and that LR delivers a more neutral file (colour and sharpening).

isn't that par for the course with dpr? ooh, something new, lets whine and cry about it! i like their liberal use of fictional physics too.

Just had a play with the new ACR - used a test image set including a roadsign which the previous ACR had had issues with

New version is much improved - very nice to see Adobe moving things forward

Previously the green background bled into the white letters a little

Now it's a nice clean conversion

Great example.

Do you notice any improvement with the foliage (it's hard to tell with the different crop)?

Haven't looked at foliage yet - just had time to run the sign test this morning between calls

Will investigate more later

Well, I just re-ran an existing image through the new ACR Beta - results below:

Looking good to me - but then to be fair I didn't have much of an issue with ACR before the latest version - but any upgrades are of course most welcome :)
