Upon a Plinth

Another scan of a print originating from the Mamiya 7II (in this instance shot with the 80 mm lens onto Ilford Delta 400 Pro). This was printed as a square print specifically for a square frame onto Ilford MGIV Gloss paper and then sepia / gold toned.

That's an awesome picture!
I have no idea why I like it so much though...
Maybe just the way it makes you want to ask "how or why are all those random things in the same place"
You know when your moving house and there is a load of stuff left unpacked that doesn't really go together, that your not even sure if you want to keep, but somehow can't leave behind ...
That's what it makes me think of!

Very cool image. Makes me think of an artist's studio circa 19th Century, except of course the items are later than that. Very nice.

Thanks both. Actually they were arranged items in a friends garden. He has a habit of accumulating all sorts of interesting things and arranging them and other stuff gets put on them, by them etc. But I understand your thoughts exactly Hamish. He's also a very good photographer and is the man behind the Berlin Wall pictures on the Babelsberg site. Never quite worked out why there is a small schnapps glass beside the doll though - mind, she does look a bit worse for wear! :)

The final toning effect is lovely - really pleasing to the eye - all that texture in the wall as backdrop :)
