Pulled this one out from last summer when my folks were visiting us here in the US.
This is a shot of my dad, resting from the heat of the day on the porch of an old ranch house.
I shot this with my (then) new 5D2 using my favorite wide lens, the 28-70 f2.8L - and this one is wide open at f2.8.
Focus is on the subject, then recomposed to put him near one of the 'magic' third quadrants, cropped in a panoramic style.
I used the spot * metering feature on the 5D2 to read the exposure off of the subject before recomposing the final shot.
B&W and tweaks in Photoshop as usual.
