Now I really like that Peter. Great background texture and contrast with the leaves. And the crop you have chosen suits the image well I think. I especially like the way the near vertical twigs break the image up into segments.

Yea I checked through my images and always seen this photo but thought "hmmm not sure"? But when you crop it tight (as above) it improves...
Every digital photo I've ever shot has been in jpeg, so for this year I'm going to teach myself to shoot in both RAW & J-Peg (my 5D can do this in-camera), and eventually buy an editing programme. I've another 8gig card ordered.
It's my intention to have good quality images for a calendar at some stage, like a personal goal/achievement! I like to push myself.
Every days a learning photographic curve eh...

Canon's DPP does a good job with raw and it is free .
