Walls More From Bath

You have got this wall malarkey to the nines, Paul.... What ever that meant.
I could look at a wall for ages and not see a potential in it... In fact, I could look at the second photo'd wall for ages and have not got anything like you have. Really takes a good skill to see that, especially when vertical lines are present, I'm hopeless with verticals.... Except my body posture when I ride bikes drunk as a consequence..... Nuff said
I think the second photo is my favourite of your wall serious as a whole (no doubt that there's more to come)

Two words.......................... GET IN!!!!!!

Cheers Dan. I noticed that you have seen the other one in Flickr but that was taken in Riga so I will post it in another thread.

Rob, It took me a while to realise something that is so obvious I kicked myself. You have to have the camera level on both axis and parallel to the wall, building, thingy in the horizontal plane as well otherwise it all goes wrong. My Sony have dual level indicators but the Fuji does not, just horizon only which is a pain. I do have a little bubble level somewhere that attached to the hotshoe that I will have to dig out.

I like these Paul and they look OK to me - wonky streets, what can you do apart from have a word with the local council! I like the first the most as the reflection / slightly obscured object in the upper window adds a nice touch of mystery. I like the stain in the last as well. :)

Cracking subtle colors Paul - reminds me of home (Stamford Lincs) which has similar stone buildings

The level, true, plumb thing is a nightmare - I use a 5 axis head to get it set-up on the tripod - and that has built-in levels

Otherwise I'd be hopeless!

and after all that, old buildings are often wonky any way - or became wonky over time :D

Hey thanks. I think I will just embrace the wonkyness! You line up a window and a door is out, you line up the door and the roof is out, you line up the roof and the window is out! To be fair a lot of the buildings on the street looked like they have suffered some subsidence I probably decided that the worst ones were the most interesting.

Paul...Me thinks you should say this 100 times..." I think I will just embrace the wonkyness!" and continue on. Kind of think I've down with the square. ;)
I really like them as is and they are more interesting to me with wonky.
