Critique Welcomed Welcome to Toronto

As I mentioned, I spent the past couple of weeks in Toronto and Palm Springs. The contrast was interesting, as it was still snowing and raining in Toronto, and then I went to 100+ degrees (+40) in Palm Springs... Anyway, here are a couple of of shots of Toronto's modernist City Hall, which is one of my favorite buildings there:

As it happens, I've just discovered that the gentleman in the B&W photo is a mutual friend of both Chris and me. Small world!

Hey, that man in shot #2 looks strangely familiar.....

That sky in #1 is super - you'd go months and not get one like that again

But #2 is just another league - makes a great B&W (I see you're doing more B&W these days?) - and of course you have the traditional Darren B model in the right spot :)

Thanks, Chris. Steve was with me when I took those shots. As you may have seen on Flickr, his comment was that he figured I'd always faked my skies because they often compliment my subject. But then he saw for himself that the sky was real here! I just get lucky (or don't take the shot if the sky isn't what I want, perhaps ;) I may also be guilty, occasionally, of moving into a position specifically to frame the subject building with the clouds behind it...

Thank you, as well, Nihat! Glad you like!

You have cleverly waited for the chap in the second image to conceal your reflection, thus revealing your photographic Ninja!

(Or are you the Alfred Hitchcock of architectural photography? I can't decide.)

Two stunners, though. And the BW one is a stunner even among stunners!

Thanks, Lesley and Brian. I like the B&W one best, too. And yes, I did wait until he was concealing my reflection, which is why he is where he is in that photo ;) . You're the first one to notice!

Darren,
on the southern edge of the plaza I caught this guy enjoying the architecture

That's an interesting juxtaposition, Stephen!

I thought that was Darren after a week in Toronto. I heard that it can do that to you. I have to concur about the 2nd photograph Darren it is wonderful.

With all the food I ate there, it may well have been, Paul! Cheers!
