Amazing site - hundreds of them now, all spinning away in the strong morning winds
 
I guess it depends on how you view a barren piece of featureless desert Brian

In a group they are very impressive - but if this was the view from your front porch you might not be too chuffed!

U like how the heat haze distorts the others in the distance.
 
If you can get Question Time over there have a watch of the last ep .. Griff rhys jones is on it and has some great comments to make on the subject of wind farms!

... I think they are silly ... but I actually quite like what they look like and they sound amazing too

Thanks chaps - yes indeed Hamish, you can get right up close to some of them - there's a guy doing 'tours' in a mini-bus, telling you about the wattage, and efficiency, etc etc, did it a few years ago.

This area is a valley which gets daily winds as the desert heats-up and draws air up the valley, and then the winds go the other way as things cool down.
