Wonky

Just having a play around in Lightroom with some photos I took when I was in Canterbury, found this awesome wonky building so took a photo with my brand new D3100 lol I didn't know anything about the 'rule of thirds' but hey, its a bit different, I thought I would add a few effects to it plus fixing the white balance!

Wonky it certainly is. I think you have over-done the vignette though. how did you do it?

There is a setting for vignette in lightroom, was just having a play with settings really, partly to learn the program and the fact I don't currently have a new photos to play with lol

This is -30 with +70 feather, at -20 it didn't really do anything.

I think that works much better. The effect will be dependent on the highlights if you are using Highlight Priority (default) and now the clouds are visible you can see why you need a bit more 'strength'. Have you added any clarity and sharpening (15 and 50 would be good starting points for this I would think).

I'm wondering how that door works? Pretty interesting building. Ay idea how it got that way?

All tweeked :) thanks for your help Pete, never too sure what is 'interesting' to others with photos, im quite impressed with the kit lens on the images in Canterbury, at 100% crop the Charles Dickens quote above the door is perfectly clear :)

You can see that the bottom of the door is cut at an odd angle lol I think it just gradually got like that over the years it looks a tad top heavy!
