The mosques in Istanbul and huge and numerous and dominate much of the skyline. I took a few general scenes from a distance but I preferred the close up one, although a bit abstract you can still tell it's a mosque by the arches.

Very nice Paul. However, if you crop it at the lien jsut above the first 2 arches it makes a very strong image as well I think. Lose a bit on the right and it even ends up square! All you need then is a border! I really like the PP you are using for these Paul.

Ah, I'm a happy man now Paul. What do you think? I like the way the doorways are linked by the daigonal of the steps and the two focal points: coupe plus cat and upper arches. And then you wonder what's behind the window in the LH arch. Full of eastern promise (I was going to say a real Turkish Delight but decided not to - I'll leave that to Chris!!):

I liked the sense of scale in the first but agree with you on the second. The compo is stronger.

Yeah, I prefer the second one too
Its not so much the compo of the image as a whole, more the fact that the focal point of the poeple/kitty is more emphasised

Yeah I have to agree. I think sometimes I struggle with loosing elements of the photo that I would like to keep for no other reason that I would like them in there cause I put them in the shot originally.

Great capture Paul - nice eye for spotting the picture in the first place, and I have to admit that the square crop actually works
