A Couple Of Random Flowers

rather odd subject for me, i was trying out the minimum focus distance of my new 24-70mm F2.8 L lens earlier today. Its quite an impressive bit of kit and you really can get much closer than i have ever been able to do before. Not a true Macro lens, impressive nevertheless..........!!

I spotted these in the grounds of Aberystwyth Castle earlier today

Excellent - like the square(er) comp - and the DF is really nice, giving sharp flowers and softer backdrops

The 'macro' on this lens is as you say, rather useful, and somewhat unexpected - I use it a lot for 'product' shots when the real macro is too much.
