A few squares from my Mamiya C330f

I love my mamiya C330, it's built like a tank, nice bright waist level finder to look through, interchangeable lenses, bellows focusing all of that in a TLR..and also did I say it was a mamiya :D

Thanks for looking.

Lightweight E type interior, Acros 100/rodinal 1:50

Cappuccino time.. Acros 100 / rodinal 1:50

And this one was a bit of a test shot to see what I could crop from the center with it still being useable and this was a massive crop...olive oil, rodinal 1:100 stand developed 1 hr

And I thought I better include this shot, as it's another favourite camera of mine..Mamiya 645 Pro tl, Acros 100/ rodinal 1:100 stood 1 hr

Hi Stephen
Great shots, I have Mamiya 330 that has not been used for a long long time, and co-incidentley, had just decided to dig it out and start again. feel inspired by your B&W shots...so thanks.

The olive oil is elegant.
I would love to photo MF.
If i may i wonder for product shots as this is the grain on the bottle pleasing
or would "grainless" (digital) be pleasing.

Nice to see another Mamiya around these parts, and those shots look great. Love the olive oil one most of all.

Thanks for the reply Rob, I seem to use my mamiya's more than my nikons digitals just lately.

Funnily enough I shoot a fair bit of digital which sells on stock librarys and have sold a digital version of the olive oil bottle a few times..and have had MF film landscaped accepted and sold but have never thought about my product photography in film, I guess it has always just beem a lot easier to shoot in digital and upload for acceptance all in a short space of time.

Stephen,..I applaude you on several counts:

1. The quality of the images in this set. In particular the compos on the cappuccino and the olive oil.
2. Your choice of camera, film, developer and developing technique: 1st class one and all!
3. Your ability to decipher Ahmad's 3rd sentence. (Ahmad: :p)

The Mamiya C3 was my first MF camera and I still own it. At the moment it is 'on tour' though as Asun borrowed it for a while, then Hamish and now Paul is using it! It is probably the camera that got me into square format although when I was looking for an alternative it was a RB that I was intending to buy. Then a commercial / technical photographer friend of mine sold me one of his older Hasselblad C/Ms and that sealed the direction I look and have shot with them ever since - both film and digital.

This is a really nice selection of images. I think, like the others, that the oil bottle is my favourite. And I think it is the contrast between the smooth glass and oil and the texture of the grain, revealed through the enlargement, that appeals so much.
